Volkswagen, the premium automobile company truly understands the sentiments attached with wedding season in India. The German auto manufacturer has rightly catered the marriage season in India by launching an ad campaign and woven Volkswagen Beetle beautifully in it.

The campaign beautifully captures the wedding emotions by placing the savvy Volkswagen Beetle as an appropriate gift for the marriage season. The thought it is working with is “Marriage does comes with its rewards” is being used in the campaign which is being advertised through print and digital medium.
Lutz Kothe, the head in marketing and public relations of the Volkswagen passenger cars, Volkswagen Sales India, says that, the Volkswagen Beetle is an impressive car which has in a righteous way captured the sentiment worldwide. Marriage is a once in a lifetime affair and to match the timeless event Volkswagen Beetle is undoubtedly the best gift.

As per the Rajeev Raja, the national creative director, DDB Mudra (the agency of Volkswagen), said that, the mini car is one of the most adorable vehicle. It feels like wrapping it beautifully and gifting it to a loved one. With this thought the marketing idea emerged from. The thought behind the ad is to, combine the timeless beauty of the car and marriage as the couples are putting its foot forward in the new era of life.
The advertisement comes with a tagline “Fittingly Expensive” gift. The Volkswagen conducted research, in which it found out that the increasing purchasing power of the young individuals spend money on purchasing expensive gifts, especially for marriages. So the company tend to target the affluent Indian buyers. Raja also added that, these days everyone tend to spend a lot of money on marriages, the gift will anyway fit the criteria. As the young Indians are brand conscious, trend setters and active social life. The wedding season in India will continue for the coming three months and the company wishes to flash the ad till January.

The Volkswagen Beetle comes with a price tag of Rs 21,34,385 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). This mini luxury on wheels rules in the domestic auto market in the premium D-segment. Volkswagen Beetle is available in only model which is powered with 2.0 litre petrol engine along with six speed automatic transmission gearbox comes in CBU (completely built unit) from its facility in Mexico.
VW other than Volkswagen Beetle it rolls out in the domestic auto market with Volkswagen Jetta, Volkswagen Polo, Volkswagen Touareg, Volkswagen Phateon, Volkswagen Vento.
Probably it looks like other auto makers will also be influenced by the idea and will sell its car in the same way in the wedding season.

New Car: 2011 Opel/Vauxhall Antara


Vauxhall’s Antara is looking sharp. These are the first pictures of the facelifted version of the firm’s SUV, which goes on sale next month.

To bring the Antara up to date, Vauxhall has added the firm’s new front grille and Griffin logo, as sported by the Corsa facelift, while SE models get fog lights mounted in leaf-shaped bezels.

New 19-inch alloys and tweaked rear light clusters complete the cosmetic modifications on the outside, while the interior gets extra storage, new trim materials and improved instruments.

Under the bonnet, the SUV gets a new 2.2-litre diesel engine, up from the current, single 148bhp 2.0-litre oil burner. The engine is available in two states of tune, 161bhp or 181bhp, but while power has increased, Vauxhall claims the unit is cleaner than before, although official emissions data hasn't yet been confirmed.

The 161bhp unit comes in front-wheel drive with a six-speed manual transmission only or all-wheel drive with either a manual or six-speed auto gearboxes. The 181bhp engine is four-wheel drive only, but buyers can choose manual or automatic transmissions. All cars benefit from revised spring and damper settings.

2010 Essen Motor Show

Sharing the spotlight with myriads of modified production and concept cars at this year's edition of the Essen motor show in Germany, are the booth professionals, which are always strategically placed to draw the attention of the male crowd.

Renault Yeni - A Competitor to TATA nano

Mahindra and Renault have failed miserablely to show their dominance in the Indian Market with Mahindra Renault Logan. Now, they both are working to come with a new small car in the domestic market which is going to be sold as Renault Yeni. Price of this car is exepected to be in the range of Rs. 1-2 lakhs.

The car is designed symetrically and can give stiff competetion to other cars ranging 5 lakhs and above. The car has got stylish looks and has aero dynamic build with new age designs and features. The car is expected to priced Rs. 1.30 lakhs and above. Renault Yeni will be sold through Mahindra and forthcoming Renault dealerships across India and is expected to compete with cars like Tata Nano and upcoming sub compact car from Bajaj Renault Nissan.

Renault along with its partner Nissan is going to spend Rs. 4500 Crores in the domestic market to establish a manufacturing facity in Chennai. This plant will have the capacity to manufacture around four lakhs vehicles annually. Renault has planned to launch its complete range of vehicles by next four years in India.

Though the sales figures of Mahindra Renault Logan were not impressive in the domestic market but the sales of this car has mounted up in Europe. In Europe Mahindra Renault Logan is sold as Renault Dacia. Recently, Renault facility of Romania introduced the one-millionth unit which is an exception figure. Renault will also bring in a small compact car by 2011 in joint venture with leading automaker Nissan and two wheeler automotive brand Bajaj.

Moreover, Mahindra&Mahindra the leading automobile group have just signed an agreement with Ssangyong, South Korean Automaker. The deal will be closed by 2011 and Mahindra will pay to Rs. 2000 crores to the in loss Ssangyoung Motors. The initiative taken by Mahindra & Mahindra is simalar to its domestic competetor Tata Motors who took over the British premium automaker Jaguar and LandRover. It is expected that the deal between the Korean and Indian SUV manufactures will make the domestic markets to establish in global markets.

Honda Accord Diesel Comes In January 2011

The Honda Accord is the of the line of sedans from Honda Siel Cars India and is definitely a show stealer. The new Honda Accord Diesel is ready to hit the Indian market this year. Jaguar and Land Rover will add 7 new dealers in 2011

Tata Motors Ltd. is on to promote its premium brand Jaguar and Land Rover by adding seven new dealers in India. The big news was revealed by Rohit Suri who is the head of premier car division for Tata Motors. He declared that Tata Motors will be having total of 10 dealerships across India by next the fiscal year. The increase in number of dealership across country will provide great strength to the company.

At present Tata Motors hold 3 dealers for its Jaguar and Land Rover brand, situated in Hyderabad, Delhi and Mumbai. Now as per new plans, the company will launch 7 more dealerships across the country. These dealership will be situated in major metros and soon the company will announce its new dealership centres for Jaguar and Land rover. Good number of dealers will certainly help them increase its sales to great extent.

This is not all in the future plans list of Tata Motors, rather company is also intending to initiate new plant in India for assembling Land Rover models. This plant will later also assemble jaguar models. Mr. Rohit denied for any information on the plant. No information on its capacity or location was disclosed by officials. Just one strong fact was revealed that the plant will assemble Land Rover model in the beginning and then will start up with Jaguar at later stage. No information on models to be assembled in this plant was given.

Mr. Rohit though commented that they might use Chikhli plant situated in Maharashtra which was earlier a centre for Mercedes Benz. At the launch of Jaguar XF Diesel S, Mr, Rohit commented that it is going to be a direct competition to BMW 5 Series, Audi A6 and Mercedes E Class. Jaguar XF Diesel S is priced at Rs. 48.37 lakh.

Jaguar launches XF diesel in India at Rs 48.37 lakh

Jaguar, the luxury car maker launched the all new Diesel XF today in India. The  launch follows the recent launch of one of the highly acclaimed 5.0L naturally aspirated petrol XF and the supercharged XFR in 2009. The Jagaur XF has the soul of a sports car, sophistication of a luxury four-door saloon, visual excitement of a coupe and is Contemporary,
individual and a beautifully crafted vehicle. Jaguar has always been known for its philosopy of creating beautiful and fast cars that define high performance, excellent refinement and outstanding dynamic ability.
Jaguar XJ comes with a state-of-the-art 3.0-litre AJ-V6 Diesel S engine, and provides drivers with superior driving dynamics, a more striking appearance and an upgraded interior that offers the ultimate experience in sporting luxury. Blessed with a twin sequential turbocharged engine with 275PS and 600Nm of torque, the car offers exceptional efficiency and refinement.
