Toyota Prius car models to be exhibited at Detroit auto show, 2011

Toyota Motor Corp, the leading Japanese automobile company which is facing a severe embarrassment due to the recalls because of the safety issues will be taking a step further by leaving all the unwanted incidents to ship smoothly in the US auto market.

As per the reports in the media, Toyota is planning to bring in the Toyota Prius Family of Vehicles” by next month at the Detroit Auto Show. The reports further revealed that Toyota Prius Family of Vehicles will be introduced at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show at Cobo Hall. The exhibition will commence with the Toyota Prius 3rd (the present) generation of car model and the Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid Vehicle (PHV), and to accompany these two stated models is the all new car entering the Toyota Prius family and also a Toyota Prius based car model.
Toyota Motors has given no indication of the new car models hold, however, the new concept car based on the lines of Toyota Prius will be a new 5 door car model. Its sneak peak is available in the teasers and viral videos since October. As per the industry experts, the look of the new Toyota Prius five door car will be similar in looks with the ongoing manufacturing of the Toyota Prius. The little cosmetic change is the additional cargo space and better fuel efficiency.
Toyota is extensively planning to establish the Toyota Prius in a car brand which will be noted for excellent efficiency in the hybrid car models. The rumour doing the rounds in the industry are that the showcasing of the four car models in the Toyota Prius family is the company's primary step towards it. The company hopes that the Toyota Prius, five door car will provide enough competition to compete in the quickly growing hybrid car industry globally mainly in the US auto market as the normal car customer in US goes with the mind set of 'bigger the better' cars.

Chevrolet Sonic launched in North America

The next generation Aveo, Chevrolet Sonic has finally made it was in the North American Auto market. The rechristened version of all exciting Chevrolet Aveo will be available in select markets like Mexico and North America as against earlier speculation of widespread availability.
As per the industry sources, if this next generation Aveo comes to Indian Auto market, it would carry the badge of Chevrolet Aveo only and will be considered as a variant. The B segment offering from the German manufacturer made its first appearance at Paris Motor Show with a badge of Chevrolet Aveo which then went for renaming and came out as Chevrolet Sonic. The car was targeted to a selected auto market.
Addressing the big event, Mr Chris Perry who is Chevrolet’s vice president of US marketing commented that the all new Chevrolet Sonic will refresh the small car portfolio of the company and thus it is gifted an exclusive name so that it wears a separate identity. He appraised the car claiming it to be the best in class option in terms of space, style and youthful features.
For now the company has not disclosed any information on the engine power, capacity and price range. But if speculations are to be believed, next generation Aveo will come loaded with a four cylinder diesel and petrol engine. Moreover it is expected that it will have two versions with 1.2 litre engine giving 70 hp of power and second churning out 86 hp of power. It is quite possible that at a later stage, 1.4-liter engine giving 100 horsepower along with 1.6-liter version smoking out 115 horsepower may join the club.
The exciting hatchback from Chevrolet stable will carry the badge of Chevrolet Sonic in United States, Mexico and Canada. The manufacturing of this hatchback will start at GM’s Orion Assembly Center in Michigan from the year 2011. A total investment of $545-million is made on the plant. The company is expecting good out of this new hatchback which is evident from the fact that it is claimed to give a new start to the company's small car segment.
