The new generation will have a personal appearance, designed for pleasure in Europe. Will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show and should be offered with the 1.6 petrol and 1.7 turbo diesel 135 hp from 116 hp.
MISSION "IMPOSSIBLE"? - Hyundai has released today the first design of the next generation of the i30, the five-door sedan on the market since 2007 and "refreshed" last year. The new model will be presented officially at the Frankfurt Motor Show, held in September and is expected to reach dealerships later this year. The Hyundai i30 is a fundamental model for strengthening the image of the Korean company and increase sales in the Old Continent, where the five-door sedans are among the types of cars sold. Not an easy task, given that the i30 will face rivals like the Volkswagen Golf (for years the best-selling car in Europe), the new Ford Focus and the Opel Astra, just to mention the most popular.
HAS A EUROPEAN STYLE - Designed at Hyundai's European design center, which is based in Rüsselsheim, Germany, the new i30 is the latest design language subjects of the house, described as "fluid sculpture" and characterized by flowing lines, but soft. The front, rather prominent, is characterized by large hexagonal mask "cut" from the bumper and headlights and fog lights that stretch to the wheel. The side panel is slimmed down by a rib height of door handles that part of the front wheel arch and stretches up to the lights. The tail is not seen, but there is a little above the rear window spoiler and integrated tail lights extend to the base of the pillar.
ENGINES "TESTED" - currently no technical information has been disseminated on the new i30, but it is reasonable to assume the use of the latest engines of the Korean group the 1.6 direct injection diesel with 135 hp is already in use on the i40 and 1.7 116 hp turbodiesel. Should be matched to both six-speed manual transmission to Start & Stop system. Furthermore, with regard to security, should not miss a full complement of airbags, ESP, a system that prevents the car backwards during hill starts, and optional "technology" as xenon headlights, cruise control, satellite navigation, parking sensors and camera to maneuver.
