New Car: 2009 Hyundai Matrix

South Korean auto manufacturer Hyundai has released official photos of the new C-segment Matrix MPV scheduled to go on sale in the European market. This is the first major facelift since the original vehicle, designed by Pininfarina, was launched in 2001.
The new vehicle exhibits many of the styling themes seen on Hyundai production and concept vehicles - such as the i10 and i30. The front end is defined by a slim upper grille supported by reverse trapezoid lower intake and the headlamps have been enlarged, moving away from the slim and sharp image of the original design to a more friendly look. Three engines will be available: a 1.6-liter and 1.8-liter gasoline and a 1.5-liter CRDi turbo-diesel.
Interestingly, the new Matrix, produced at the Hyundai manufacturing facility in Turkey, will only be sold in Europe. Sales of the new car will begin at the end of April.
