Nissan Leaf launched in Japan

 Nissan Motors presented its new Electric Car Leaf. This new genre car is flaunts its zero-emission technology with a video showing the skills of the car moving from water and snow.

The new generation automobile will enter the global market which has great demand for Electric cars. The car has been all sold out till March, 2011 due to minimum manufacturing facility. The new car which sports zero emission is booked heavy with 6,000 orders in the Japanese auto market and 20,000 orders in the American auto market. Europe is the next targeted auto market.
Toshiyuki Shiga, the Chief Operating Executive from Nissan Motors elated with the response from buyers, said that he is happy to witness this day. The launch of the electric car is the beginning of a new chapter in the world auto market. He added that, Nissan Leaf is embarking on a new time in the auto sector worldwide.
Shiga revealing the price tag said that, Nissan Leaf in Japan will sell for 3.76 million yen ($45,000) but a subsidy of 780,000 yen ($9,000) from government will be given as green incentives. The car will then cost 2.98 million yes ($35,000).
As per the electric car maker, the selling price for the US market is expected to be $33,600. As per the norms of states, there are more rebates and incentives on the Electric Car. A lavage of $7,500 can be claimed from Federal tax credit by the taxpayer on the purchase of Leaf, the electric car in US.
Nissan Leaf is on the same lines of mass produced EVs. Chevrolet Volt, the electric car from the American auto giant, General Motors is expected to some with a price tag of $41,000 which will roll out in the month of December. Another EV the i-MiEV small car from the Japanese auto giants Mitsubishi Motors which is already out in the Japanese auto market in April with a price tag of 2.84 million yen ($34,000) with incentives for being a eco friendly car.
The electric car Leaf has a mileage of 99 miles per gallon in the US markets which is more than Volt that offers 93 miles per gallon. As per the Japanese regulation test, the Nissan Leaf in a single charge can zip to 200 km (124 miles). Whereas, Chevrolet Volt can go to almost 35 miles (56 km) with the car's battery before the petrol powertrain starts which generates electricity to keep the car running.
As per Shiga, the waiting for the electric car can be long as the demand is high for the electric car. The company manufactured Leaf in Japan with yearly capacity of 50,000 units. The production will commence in Great Britain and US by 2012 and the production will increase to 250,000 units.
