Audi is aiming high in 2011 with the launch of its new car Audi A8 tomorrow. After BMW and Mercedes Benz the firm is placed at number three in the luxury car space.
Audi plans to become the fastest growing brand in the world by 2015 , however it might happen a little early in India with the launch of Audi A8.
Audi is known for its design and styling. The all new Audi A8 has been designed keeping this in mind. Despite of being 5 meter long Audi A8 does not look humongous unlike the BMW 7 series. What makes it conspicuous from the other luxury cars is the one piece grille and LED lights. The icing on the cake is the four ring logo which makes its known from the outset of the car’s lineage.
The new Audi A8 is comparatively larger than the older one. It has a bigger cabin space at the front and rear. The new Audi A8 is a blend of aesthetics and technology. The interior has been done with leather, wood and aluminium and not top forget gadgets such as touch pad for multimedia interface.

The utility of the touch pad diminishes with the lack of the navigation map. Together with the 22 way power seats with massage and 10 inch LCD screens at the rear, the car boasts of an awesome Bang and Olufsen sound system with as many as 19 speakers.
The Audi A8 has the 4.2 litre V8 petrol engine and a torque of 445 Nm. Despite the huge size, Audi A8 drives and sounds like a mini car. The handling is such that when required it can glide on the road like a cruiser and when desired it can shoot like a rocket. The car rides on adaptive air suspension which enhances drive-ability and is best suited to tackle the Indian road conditions. Audi A8 has 'comfort' and 'Sport' drive options therefore one can quickly swap from one drive option to another.
Audi A8 contains aluminium in ample amount which makes it lighter and fuel efficient. With a capacity of 90 litre fuel tank,it gives a full range of over 900 kilometers to a full tank. The average fuel economy of Audi A8 is 7 kmpl in the city and over 13 kmpl on the highway.
Audi has been tight lipped about the price of the Audi A8. Audi A8 is expected to be in the range of 86-90 lakhs. In the Audi A8, the rear passenger will feel as contented as the driver as it is a perfect car to drive around as to be driven around. Only the who's who in India can afford this car.
