Hot News: Chrysler Recalls 181,000 Sebrings and Avengers

Chrysler has announced it is recalling of approximately 181,000 Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Avenger models built for the 2007-2008 model year, citing defective electrical connectors as the problem.

The faulty connectors are located in the vehicles' tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and, if unused by the system, will corrode and short out, preventing vehicles from running properly. Various electrical problems may arise as a result of the faulty TPMS connectors such as stalling engines, dead batteries, and failing cruise controls. Dealers have been instructed to fix the TPMS system by sealing the circuits of the unused connectors. Chrysler informed the National Traffic Safety Administration of the recall this week and says that no accidents have been reported as a result of the failings.
