For all the offroader lovers, Mercedes India has something majestic to increase the celebrations of the Valentines day. The German luxury car maker has officially announced the launch of the iconic Mercedes G Wagon in the Indian auto market on 14th of February 2011.
The name G-Wagon stands for Geländewagen meaning a cross-country wagon. The stunning offroader might nor look signature Mercedes car to you as it wears a look of My Hyde version of the GL Class. The most interesting fact about the car is that it is the longest car model ever made by this German car maker Daimler’s 30 year history. The offroader is designed with a raw and rocky looks, which has maintained a position in the prevailing fashion since ages. May the technology has gone under revolution, but the looks are what has remained unaffected over the years. The striking models present in the market which are inspired from the Mercedes G Wagon are Tata Sumo and the Mahindra Armada. The car is built in a trademark frame which is iconic in the field of offroaders.
Mercedes G Wagon comes loaded with a 5.0 liter V8 engine which churns out 382 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and the powerhouse leads a torque of 391 lb-ft at 4,800 rpm. A 7-speed auto transmission mated with the engine makes it more performance oriented.
