To demonstrate the reliability of electric vehicles, two engineers decided to make Paris the world tour aboard one of these devices.
A project necessary for the public
At the time of the adoption of electric vehicles is strongly encouraged by government policies and other environmental groups, and Xavier Degon Antonin Guy, two French engineers, prepare a trip around the globe on board an electric car. Their main objective is to prove to the world that eco-friendly cars are robust, reliable and very economical. Upon completion of this project, they hope that people will be convinced of the practicality of electric cars for use on a daily basis.
A successful trial
To prepare for this major project, the two sides have already made a prologue which proved inconclusive. For this, they have linked Strasbourg from Paris. The trip lasted four hours and multiple times of lithium-ion batteries have proven to be inexpensive. However, these inconveniences techniques have not discouraged because it was an opportunity to enrich themselves by getting in touch with people.
The Citroën C-ZERO showing
The choice of these young men focused on the Citroen C-ZERO. With an electric motor developing 64 horsepower 47 kilowatts, the car can reach 130 km / h top speed. Ample power under the main objective. It also allows a range of about 150 km and takes care of a household outlet to 220 V. The start will take place in February 2012 in Strasbourg and the journey will last 200 days. 25 000 km will be well traveled throughout 17 countries.
