A teaser video released by Toyota’s “youth” brand, Scion, previews a concept that the company will show at next week’s New York auto show—and it looks a heck of a lot like the Toyota FT-86 II concept car from this year’s Geneva auto show. This tells us that the Toyota version of the jointly developed Subaru/Toyota rear-wheel-drive sports car could be badged in the U.S. as a Scion.
In case you’ve been working deep in the jungle for the last two years, the little coupe—which has been hyped more than Transformers 8: Optimus Prime Goes to Des Moines—will pack a boxer engine and should debut in actual, honest-to-goodness production form at the Tokyo show this fall.
We’ll bring you the full story on the Scion concept live from the show floor, once the vehicle emerges from its cloak of darkness.
