After the car prices were raised by Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors another Indian Auto key player Mahindra and Mahindra has increased the prices of its cars.
M&M hiked the prices for Mahindra auto mobiles up to Rs. 15000 due to risen input costs. In this year Mahindra has raised already raised the prices twice. In the beginning of this year in January the prices were raised by 1.5 per cent.Mahindra and Mahindra President (Automotive and Farm Sectors) Pawan Goenka reported that the company has hiked Mahindra vehicles prices by 1.2 per cent to 2 per for last week and which has been effected from April 4th, 2011. This hike in prices range is between Rs 7,000 to Rs 15,000 on different car models.
The compnay includes Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra Xylo, Mahindra Thar and a popular sedan Mahindra Logan in its portfolio. Meanwhile its recently launched Mahindra Bolero celebration edition will be available with a greater price tag.
Presently the auto industry is under pressure due to raising raw material costs. Another auto giant Maruti Suzuki India already hiked the prices for its vehicles by between Rs 1,100 to Rs 9,000 for similar reasons. Meanwhile Tata Motors has hiked prices of its vehicles by up to Rs 36,000 from April 1. And now Hyundai Motor India is also planing to hike prices for its cars.
